General Information

The Venue

Banz Monastery, Bad Staffelstein

Originally established as a fortress, Banz was converted into a monastery around 1070. Benedictine spirit henceforth shaped life on Banzberg.

Significant architects of their time, such as Leonhard and Johann Dientzenhofer, as well as Balthasar Neumann, created the fundamentally redesigned Baroque complex.

In the 1930s, the missionary order of the "Community of the Holy Angels" assumed control of the buildings as a monastery operation. Since 1978, Banz Monastery has been owned by the Hanns-Seidel Foundation. The structures were renovated, restored, and developed into a modern educational and meeting center.
